  • Independent professional judgement
  • Available throughout England and Wales
Suitable premises

Desk-based fire risk assessment reviews are available for a wide range of commercial premises across England and Wales, including shops, offices, workshops, warehouses and manufacturing premises. If you are unsure whether your premises are suitable, please get in touch.

Why use Fire Risk Reviews?

Understand what needs attention before you spend more money.

An independent review can give you greater confidence in an existing fire risk assessment and a clearer understanding of what needs attention. The aim is to identify important gaps, unclear recommendations and areas that may need further action, so you can make informed decisions about what to do next.

Independent reassurance

A separate professional view of your existing fire risk assessment, its reasoning and the significant issues it identifies.

Clear priorities

Understand which matters need attention, what they mean in practical terms and where the assessment could be strengthened.

Make informed decisions

Deal with straightforward actions yourself where appropriate, and only seek further professional or specialist help where it is genuinely needed.

Useful before external scrutiny

A review can be valuable before discussions with an insurer, landlord, auditor or enforcing authority, helping you identify issues before relying on the assessment.

How it works

A simple process.

1
Send your existing FRA

Email your current fire risk assessment to me, together with any relevant supporting documents, your billing name and billing address.

2
I check that the review service is appropriate

I confirm whether the existing assessment can reasonably be dealt with as a desk-based review. If it cannot, I will tell you before accepting the instruction.

3
You decide whether to proceed

The fee is fixed at £195, so you know the cost before any work begins.

4
You receive the written review

Once instructed, payment is received and the required documents are available, I aim to issue the written review within 5 working days.

Is this service suitable?

When a desk-based review is appropriate.

The service is intended for businesses and organisations that already have a fire risk assessment and want an independent professional review of that document.

A desk-based review is suitable where
  • You already have a current fire risk assessment
  • The premises and their use have not changed significantly since it was completed
  • You want an independent check on the quality, clarity and reasoning of the assessment
  • You want significant gaps, inconsistencies or unclear findings identified
A desk-based review is not suitable where
  • There is no existing fire risk assessment to review
  • The premises or their use have changed significantly since the assessment
  • The assessment is so incomplete that a meaningful review cannot be carried out from the information recorded
  • A physical inspection is needed to establish current site conditions
If the assessment or premises are not suitable for the desk-based review service, I will advise you before any work is accepted.

Pricing

One clear fixed fee.

Desk-based review scope.
The review does not involve a site inspection or the recreation of a new fire risk assessment. If the existing assessment cannot reasonably be reviewed without substantial new information, I will advise you before accepting the instruction.

Payment by bank transfer; details are provided when the work is accepted.

If I am unable to meet the usual 5-working-day turnaround, I will let you know before accepting the instruction.
